AFC Bournemouth Signed Ryan Fredericks Transfer From West Ham United

Bournemouth have completed their first summer transfer following the signing of Ryan Fredericks from West Ham United. Including the full-back, the player will provide the Hammers the manpower boost they need to overcome the season’s challenges. 

Fredericks signed a contract with Bournemouth

Following the end of his contract for the English top-flight this month, the English club confirmed a two-year contract for the player in Bournemouth which was immediately posted on their official website after his medical. The Premier League fixtures 2022 was also released with matches featuring the club.

Fredericks also voiced his excitement to join the south coast club and he also mentioned that the current coach Scott Parker convinced him to sign the contract. He also confirmed that two of the prolific players of the Cherries—former player Callum Wilson and current winger Junior Stanislas also inspired him to move to the Dean Court.

According to the new Bournemouth player, he was deeply honored to be a part of the Cherries. He also mentioned that he can’t wait for the Premier League fixtures 2022 to commence and he wants to show his newfound skills in the matches of the Premier League that will feature his new club.

He also disclosed that it is Coach Parker who is the one that he had spoken to first. He said that he had many offers to play from other clubs during that time but he was immediately convinced because the manager has shown interest in him more than anyone else. Also, the manager told him about the tight-knit culture in the club which ultimately convinced him to make the move. 

He said that he was only watching them play in the past seasons and they are commanding the games. They have shown good performance in the past, according to Fredericks. 

Reunion with Coach Parker

According to coach Parker, he was an amazing athlete, and his versatile play is his most defining trait. Additionally, the coach commended him for his work ethic, and he poured his commitment into the club where he belongs.  

The transfer is a perfect opportunity for Fredericks to reunite with Parker who was his teammate when he was still playing at West Ham United, two years prior. Since then, Parker retired from his playing career in 2017, and eventually became the new manager of AFC Bournemouth.

Both Parker and Fredericks have a history in their old club; hence, they will have a good working relationship in their new club as a coach and a player. The Premier League fixtures 2022 will showcase this dynamic.

Career history

Ryan Fredricks began his professional footballing career at his first club, Tottenham Hotspurs. In 2018, he became a member of West Ham, producing a total appearance of 77 for the club during his four-year spell at The Hammers.

Even though the 29-year-old athlete was demoted out of the first XI of the David Moyes-managed club, Fredericks has found a way to redeem himself. It was after he suffered from injury and players Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal were promoted to the first XI. 

Before the successful transfer of Fredericks to Bournemouth, Premier League clubs Fulham and Southampton also expressed keen interest to the prolific player. Bournemouth will remain committed to continuing to upgrade their defenses following the recent transfer of Gary Cahill.
