Arsenal Gets Triple Injury Boost Ahead of Match Against Crystal Palace

A full-force team

During their game against Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta’s team walk away with a 2-0 win at the curtain-raiser away game. They managed to get the upper hand against their sworn rival despite missing a handful of their important players. 

However, Arsenal is now in full force when they face Leicester next week in the Premier League fixtures 2022. The squad will have a triple injury development ahead of their next game in the Premier League 2022/23 season. The three senior players Fabio Vieira, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Emile Smith Rowe will all return to the team following a brief spell of injury.

The returning players who have restored their total health have returned to their trainer session with the team on Tuesday at London Colney. While Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu are already a favorite among fans of Arsenal, the supporters are already looking forward to seeing more of the newly-signed Vieira.

Vieira’s transfer has boosted the team

Last month, Vieira signed for the top-flight club following his departure from Portuguese club FC Porto with a transfer contract costing £34 million that is set to increase over time. Expectations  are very high for the talented midfielder, who is already making a huge contribution to the Gunners squad under the tutelage of coach Mikel Arteta. 

The Portuguese player had an injury in one of the bones in his foot, and he has just recently returned to training with his new teammates following his recovery. 

During an interview, last month in the preparation for the upcoming Premier League fixtures 2022, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was asked about Vieira and the rest of the injured players. 

He said that the Portuguese neophyte had a small-scale injury in his bone in one of his feet, he also said that he was hoping that the player will be in recovery soon so that he will resume training in the next week. 

The Spanish coach also mentioned during the pre-season about his other players that are still recovering. We have Emile Smith Rowe who is suffering from a niggling muscle, we also have Kieran Tierney who is also nursing an injury, as well as Benjamin White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Apart from the aforementioned players, he said that the rest of the team is doing well and they will be joined by the injured players in a matter of days. 

Speaking of White and Tierney, both players played during the opening match at Selhurst Park, however, the other three talents are still recovering during that time.

Mikel Arteta’s perspective after the match

During the match, the visiting team of Brendan Rodgers now faced Arteta’s side and they struggled to gain an upper hand against the winning team. 

In the interview after the decisive win, Arteta mentioned that after they came out from the match fresh with three points with an advantageous beginning, they feel pressured to come to the next game in the Premier League fixtures 2022. 

Arteta said that during the first half of the game, they have some memorable moments. Although, he said that he was frustrated that they could have scored more. In the end, he was still pleased because even though the match has the potential to escalate into something aggressive but they still managed to remain calm amidst pressure.

The coach also mentioned that he commended his players for being such a professional by displaying passion on the pitch. He said that the squad is dominating the game and yet not falling into the clutches of pressure. He closed the interview by saying that he trusted his team to win more football matches.
