Manchester City FC

Who would bet against a confetti shower for Pep Guardiola’s team? The Sky Blues are still the best team in the Premier League despite having lost Riyad Mahrez (to Saudi Arabia) and Ilkay Gundogan (to Barcelona) this summer.

In a season where the club’s focus was mostly on the Champions League trophy, City came out of a deficit of eight points in April to beat surprise leaders Arsenal and three-peat.

This season, the domestic league and the chance to make history in it will be Guardiola’s first priority, even though he has signed two Croatian stars Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic. For the rest of the league, that’s a very terrifying prospect.

Liverpool FC

The Reds won’t be concerned about the Champions League this year despite years of pushing on two fronts. It wasn’t their intention to finish fifth, but having missed out on Europe’s top club championship last season has motivated them to improve this year.

The departure of team captain Jordan Henderson to Al-Ettifaq of the Saudi Pro League is a huge blow to the club’s morale. The additions of Argentine World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and German playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig have helped Liverpool grow as a whole.

Arsenal FC

The Gunners are in a different position than Liverpool and City, who can focus on the Premier League because they have qualified for the Champions League after a five-year absence.

While many Arsenal fans would welcome such a trade, Mikel Arteta’s squad still lacks the depth of the aforementioned clubs despite the additions of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber.

Without ailing star striker Gabriel Jesus for no less than the first few weeks, Arteta will need to shuffle his players more frequently than he managed during the previous campaign when the London club led the race for the championship longer than any other squad that ultimately failed to win it.

Newcastle FC

Eddie Howe’s squad allowed only 33 goals in 2022-23, and the additions of Sandro Tonali (from AC Milan) and Tino Livramento (from Southampton) could make the Magpies even stingier this season.

Striker Callum Wilson will turn 32 in February, so it’s probably unrealistic to expect him to match or improve upon his career-high of 18 goals from last season when Newcastle qualified for the Champions League for the very first time in 20 years. Howe will have to do a delicate balancing act as he prepares for both competitions.

Manchester United

Under Erik Ten Hag, the Red Devils’ second-year manager, the team is visibly improving. Last season, United took third place in the league and won the EFL Cup. Since then, they’ve been able to sign Rasmus Hojlund (a striker) from Atalanta, Andre Onana (a goalie) from Inter Milan, and Mason Mount (a midfielder) from Chelsea (among others).

Those upgrades should secure a Top-Four finish once again. While Hojlund, at 20, is utterly inexperienced in the Premier League, Ten Hag’s squad still doesn’t appear quite ruthless enough up top because Marcus Rashford isn’t quite as efficient as their rivals’ best attackers.

Conclusion

On Friday, August 11 (U.S. Eastern time), the newly promoted Burnley team faced off against the three-time defending champion Manchester City. On the final Sunday of May (19), the English Premier League season concludes. There are a total of 38 games played during the season, with each team playing the others twice.

That said, there are plenty of opportunities to catch your favorite team at the EPL live stream Singapore free until the season ends!
