Liverpool to Face Crystal Palace in Singapore Pre-season Game

Liverpool and Crystal Palace are set to return to Asia at the Singapore National Stadium for a preseason friendly match in July. The launch of the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy in the summer will see the Premier League clubs clash in their Asian tour.

Liverpool, which is also this season’s League Cup champions, are also vying for the championship titles in another three tournaments which is good for the sports betting industry. They will also hold an open training session at the National Stadium set on July 14.

According to Ben Latty, the commercial head of Liverpool, the match is very important for the club. He said “It is a perfect chance for the team to meet our supporters from all over the globe. The 19-time title holders of the EPL last played in Asia in 2017, when they claimed the Premier League Asia Trophy at the Hong Kong Stadium with exciting odds at Singapore Pools.

Meanwhile, the upcoming game will be the first match of Crystal Palace in Singapore. However, this isn’t the first time the team played in Asia as they lost in a 2-0 match with Liverpool in 2017 at Hong Kong. After that, they defeated West Brom in the same preseason tournament.

Patrick Vieira’s team is holding the 14th position in the league standing of the Premier League. Meanwhile, made it through the semi-final round of the FA Cup, which is not that bad.

According to Crystal Palace head Steve Parish, the team is thrilled to be a part of the preseason event. 

“We are elated to participate in the preseason tour match with Liverpool. We all know how formidable Liverpool was, so we are deeply honoured to play alongside them in this event.”
